What is the DIR-3 KYC Form?
With the Registrar of Companies (ROC) the Director files the Director’s KYC which is an annual process to file updated details of the Director in the DIR- 3 KYC Form. The individuals who are willing to be a director or those who are existing directors are allotted the Director Identification Number (DIN). A director Identification Number is obtained by filing an e-form (DIR-3) application. However, after the update in the Registry of MCA, all the Directors who have their DIN must upload KYC details in the e-form IDR- 3 annually KYC.
The goal of the DIR-3 KYC Form
Through the Form of DIR- 3, every Director shall inform the companies in which they are directors about the DIN allotted to them within 30 days of the receipt of the approval of the DIN. Same as this the Secretary and the Manager of the Company must inform the company about their Income Tax Permanent Account Number (PAN). The company also have to be required to provide the information about the DIN within 15 days of the Directors to the Registrar in the Form of DIR- 3 KYC Form.
Types of DIR-3 KYC
For the previous Financial Year (FY), the holder of the Director Identification Number can file and update their DIR-3 KYC details either by the e-form or through web services.
KYC Details update through e-Form DIR-3:
The Director who is filing e-Form DIR-3 KYC after the allotment of DIN for the first time or whose details are required to be updated or changed must file this form.
DIR-3 KYC (Web):
The Director who already in the previous year filed the e-Form DIR-3 KYC/ DIR-3 KYC (WEB) can file this form if there is no change in his/ her KYC details. In this e-form, from the MCA data, the basic details of the directors will be pre-filled which cannot be changed.
Who needs to File the DIR-3 KYC Form?
As per the guidelines of the MCA, all the directors must submit their KYC information to the Ministry of Corporation Affairs if they fulfil the following conditions-
By 31st March 2018 the DIN is approved any Director must submit their KYC details. Even, the Directors who are disqualified are also must follow this procedure.
The Director who has been allocated a DIN before the end of the financial year and the Director whose DIN has been approved shall file a DIR-3 KYC Form before the 30th of September of the same financial year.
Documents Required for Filing DIR-3 KYC Form
For filling out the DIR-3 KYC following are the documents required:
Details of Nationality
Citizenship Details (Date of Birth, gender etc.)
If the DIN holder is a Foreign Nationality a passport is required.
Driving License
Aadhar Card
Email ID and the Mobile Number
Residential Address proof
Voter Id
The Director filing the form must sign with a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). In the format, there must be a sign of the practising CA, CS or Cost Accountant, as it is important to enter the details of the practising professional.
Process of Filing DIR-3 KYC Form
From the MCA Website, Download the DIR-3 KYC Form.
The director whose status is approved must fill in the DIN in the KYC Form and those Directors whose DIN is Deactivate due to non-filling of the KYC Form can fill the form after paying late filing charges after the prescribed due date.
The director enters his PAN and provides the required details in the DIR-3 KYC Form. Then, he clicks on the “Verify Income Tax PAN” button. The system verifies the director's details based on the PAN card number.
Directors, after updating the Contact Details and verifying the OTP Authentication of the e-form, must ensure that the e-form is digitally signed by a Chartered Accountant/ Cost Accountant or by a Company Secretary who practices the profession.
Process of Filing Form DIR-3 KYC (Web)
With valid credentials login to the MCA Portal.
After that select “MCA Services” and then select “Company e- Filling”
Click on “DIN related filings” and access “Form DIR- 3KYC (WEB)- verify Director’s KYC Details.
Fill in the Details of DIN.
Then the OTP will send the updated Mobile Number and the email. Then click on the next
Accept the Terms and Conditions by checking the Details and then clicking on “Proceed”
After this form is submitted and the SRN is generated. Then click on the “Proceed to Payment.”
As there is no fee then simply you must click on the “Confirm Submission.”
