Application for licence

●    Application is to be made in triplicate Form IV to the licensing officer of the area in which the establishment is located.

●    The application should be accompanied by a certificate by the principal employer in Form V stating that the applicant is an employed contractor of the principal employer and is bound by the provisions of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act.

●    The application shall be personally delivered to the licensing officer or shall be sent by a registered post. 

Fee

The applicant must pay the security fee and the application fee in the form of demand draft. The security amount is calculated at the rate of Rs. 90 for each employed labour. The application fee is based on the following:

Validity of licence

The licence is valid for a period of 12 months from the date on which it is granted.

Renewal of Licence

An application for renewal of a licence shall be made before thirty days from the date of expiration of its validity. The fee for a renewal is the same as that of grant. If the license is not renewed within the stipulated time, a fee of 25 per cent is to be paid in addition to the renewal fee.

A temporary grant of Licence

A temporary licence can be granted in cases where the employment of contracted labour will not last for more than 15 days. The application shall be made in triplicate in forms VIII and X respectively. The requisite security and application are to be paid in the form of demand draft.
