Guidance for Step-by-Step to link Aadhar with PAN

There are many steps to link Aadhar with PAN which are mentioned following:

1.    Payment of application fee on the NSDL portal under major head (0021) and newly added minor head (500) for Assessment Year 2023-24.

  • Go to the e-Payment for TIN (egov-nsdl.com) to pay the late fee of Rs. 500 or Rs.1000 according to the case may be.

  • After the click of Proceed button challan will be shown which will have a major and minor head.

  • Enter the essential details (PAN, Assessment Year, mode of payment, etc).

Note:

  • If the amount is less than or greater than the particular amount then the amount shall be marked as invalid for purpose of Aadhaar-PAN linkage.

  • Only single challan of the application fee is Rs. 500 up to 30th June 2022 and Rs. 1000 after 30th Jun 2022 with Minor head code Rs.500 will think that the fee for Aadhaar link with PAN and multiple challans with major head (0021), minor head (500) and Assessment Year 2023-24 aggregating to Rs. 500 up to 30th June 202 or Rs. 1000 from 1st July 2022 onwards till 31st March 2023 will not be considered as valid fee payment.

  • There should not be any accumulation of challans with PAN-Minor head 500 to arrive at an amount of Rs. 500 or 1000.

  • The applicable fee for challan should be with the Assessment Year 2023-24 only.

2.    Submit the PAN-Aadhaar link request on the e-Filing portal or website after 4-5 working days of making the fee payment on the NSDL portal.
